What browsers and devices does Kira support?
To complete an asynchronous assessment or live interview on the Kira platform, you'll need a compatible device, browser, and basic audio/video equipment.
What equipment do I need?
- An internet connection — broadband wired or wireless (3G or 4G/LTE for mobile data)
- A front-facing camera — built-in or USB plug-in
- A microphone — built-in, USB plug-in, or wireless Bluetooth
- Speakers — built-in, USB plug-in, or wireless Bluetooth
A headset or headphones with a built-in microphone will work in place of separate speakers and a microphone.
What devices and operating systems are supported?
A laptop or desktop computer is recommended, but mobile devices and tablets are also supported.
Desktop and laptop:
- Windows 10 (Home, Pro, or Enterprise) or Windows 11. Note: Windows 10 in S Mode is not supported.
- macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) or later
- Chrome OS
Mobile and tablet:
- Android 8.0 or later
- iOS 17.0 or later
- iPadOS 17 or later
What are the minimum hardware requirements?
Desktop and laptop:
- Processor: Dual-core 2 GHz or higher (Quad-core 2.5 GHz or higher recommended)
- RAM: 4 GB minimum (16 GB recommended)
- 64-bit CPU required
Mobile:
- Any 1 GHz single-core processor or better (non-Intel)
- ARM processor required for Android devices
What browsers are supported?
Kira supports recent versions of major browsers. As browser vendors release new versions, the minimum supported version will increase up to five versions behind the current release. For example, if the current version of Chrome is 139, versions 134 through 139 are supported.
Desktop browsers:
- Google Chrome (recommended)
- Firefox
- Microsoft Edge
- Safari 17 or later
Mobile browsers:
- Google Chrome on Android devices
- Safari 17 or later on iOS and iPadOS devices
Other mobile browsers, including Firefox, Edge, and Opera, are not supported on mobile at this time.
How do I check my browser version?
Desktop:
- Google Chrome: Open Chrome and go to Settings > About Chrome. Chrome will show your current version and automatically update if a newer version is available.
- Firefox: Open Firefox and go to Settings > General, then scroll down to Firefox Updates. You can also click the menu button (☰), then Help > About Firefox to see your version and check for updates.
- Microsoft Edge: Open Edge and go to Settings > About Microsoft Edge. Edge will show your current version and automatically update if a newer version is available.
- Safari (Mac): Safari updates through your Mac's operating system. Go to System Settings > General > Software Update to check for available updates.
Mobile:
- Chrome on Android: Open the Google Play Store, search for Google Chrome, and tap Update if an update is available.
- Safari on iOS/iPadOS: Safari updates through your device's operating system. Go to Settings > General > Software Update to check for available updates.
