Webcam: How to Setup
Please note: If you see (HTML5) in the top left of your Device Setup, Practice, or Assessment, please visit this Help page instead.
In order to use the Kira platform, you'll need to have a working front-facing camera with your desktop/laptop. Please note that the platform is not supported on tablets (including Microsoft Surface Pros or iPads) and there are no mobile apps available at this time.
1. Check to make sure that your browser is updated and that you have installed and enabled the latest version of Adobe Flash. To learn how to download, install, or enable Adobe Flash, see our FAQ article here.
2. During Device Setup, you may get a prompt that "app.kiratalent.com wants to use your camera and microphone" > Choose "Allow". If you are using Chrome (which we recommend), double check that Flash is enabled by following the screenshot below. Refresh your page once this is done.
3. Once your Flash Player Settings appears in your recorder view, click on the Privacy tab and then choose "Allow" and "Remember".
4. At this point, your webcam should start and you should be able to see yourself in the recorder screen. If you do not see yourself, check to make sure you have the right webcam selected. In the permissions box, click on the small webcam tab > Choose the correct camera view from the drop-down menu > Click "X" to close the box.
*Note: You can re-open up your settings box by right-clicking on the recorder view > Click "Settings".
