Setting up your microphone & speakers
To set up your computer's microphone, please visit Device Setup on your Check-In page. For the best experience, we recommend using a Chrome browser.
On the first page, you'll be prompted to 'Allow' Kira Talent (app.kiratalent.com) to access your camera and microphone. Please click 'Allow' and 'Remember' in every prompt that appears.
In Chrome, Opera, and Edge - click 'Allow' in the prompt coming from the lock icon to the left of your address bar.
In Firefox, click 'Remember this decision' and 'Allow' in the prompt coming from the camera icon to the left of your address bar.
Once you've successfully allowed Kira to access your camera and microphone, you should be able to see yourself on the screen. Please see our Camera Setup & Troubleshooting article for more information about setting up your camera.
To test your microphone, say something loudly into your microphone. If the platform picks up audio, you'll see the green bars bounce in the right corner, and the 'Start sample recording button' will activate.
From here, record a 10-second sample video, and be sure to speak loudly in the video to ensure the microphone can pick up your voice. Afterwards, playback your recording to ensure it has audio and video.
If you hear yourself in your sample video, click "Yes, return to Check-In".

'We couldn't detect any audio'
If you're seeing this error, please try your video again and speak up louder. If the issue persists, please repeat Device Setup from the beginning. You may need to pick another microphone source or increase your input volume.
You'll know we're able to capture audio when the green bars bounce on the bottom right of your screen.
'Please ensure your microphone is connected and access is allowed'
If you're receiving this error in a live Kira interview, the platform doesn't have access to your microphone.
First, make sure your microphone is working in other applications. Then, close your browser, re-open your unique link, and allow the Kira platform access to your microphone again.
If that doesn’t work, try selecting another option from the dropdown, using a new browser, or restarting your computer. We also recommend going through another Device Setup on your Check-In page.
