What types of questions are in a Kira live interview?
During a live interview, you are connected directly with an interviewer and move through different questions or stations automatically. Your interview is scheduled for a specific date and time.
The questions you are asked can vary in a live interview. Since this is a conversation with a live person, you can expect follow-up or additional questions within the same station that were not shown in advance.
How are questions presented in a live interview?
How you receive each question depends on how the school has set up the interview. The format can vary from station to station within the same interview.
- Question shown on screen: Some stations will display the question as text on your screen during your prep time, giving you time to read and consider the question before you are connected with your interviewer. You can refer back to the question text on the right side of your screen while speaking with your interviewer.
- No question shown in advance: Some stations will display "There is no question for this station" during your prep time. In these cases, your interviewer will ask you the question directly once your live time begins.
- Rest station: Some stations may be rest stations, which will display a message such as "This is a 5-minute rest station." You are not being assessed during a rest station. The duration of the rest station can vary.
What happens during each station?
Each station begins with a prep time period, followed by a 10-second connection period before your live time starts. During your live time, your camera and microphone will be on, and you will be able to see and hear your interviewer.
You can track your remaining prep time and live time using the countdown timer at the top left of your screen and the timer bar at the top.
What happens between stations?
After your live time for a station ends, you will be brought directly into the prep time for your next station. If it is your last station, you will exit the interview.
How do I see how many stations are in my interview?
If you have already received your invite email, click the Check In button to navigate to your interview. On that initial page, click the Learn More button and click Next to go to the second slide, called Live Interview Details. This slide will show you the number of stations, along with the expected duration of your interview.
